Partnering for Life

On behalf of all of us at Voya Financial, thank you again for your continued partnership and support. We are truly honored to be a part of your growing business and your strategy for success at your firm. While you and I may have met in the past, I wanted to take this opportunity to connect with you and reintroduce myself.

Carolyn Johnson and Chad Tope recently made some changes to the structure of our Individual Life business, and as part of that change, they have asked me to lead the sales and distribution efforts for the business. Needless to say, I am very excited about the opportunity to have a deeper focus on our life insurance strategy and to continue to work with the great members of our team. Additionally, Chad Tope will serve in an advisory role during the transition to ensure you continue to experience the same first-class sales support you have come to expect. We have a great team at Voya, and we are very fortunate to have longstanding relationships with organizations like yours.

In late 2017, we announced that we were undergoing a “strategic review” of our life insurance business. This created some questions around Voya's commitment to our Individual Life business. Any business that is not constantly reviewing its long-term strategy is probably not doing what's best for their business. I'm sure there is not a single day where you don't think about the strategy of your business, what you'd like to accomplish and how you're going to get there. We are simply doing the same, and have purposefully taken a very transparent approach in this process with all of our business partners.

We are pleased with the new life insurance business that we write today and we are not slowing down our efforts to support this business. Just recently we made very strong moves to improve the value proposition for both agent revenue and customer values through the Index Credit Multiplier Rider and agent compensation improvements. Additionally, we are developing ambitious plans of retooling our portfolio as part of the 2020 regulatory changes. And earlier this year, we introduced Voya's Chinese name and launched a national advertising campaign to increase our brand awareness in the Asian-American community to reinforce Voya's commitment to this important and growing market.

As a key partner, you have our commitment that as our strategy continues to evolve, you're awareness and input is critical to our shared success.
